What makes human beings different from the rest of the species on this planet? I guess one of the differentiators is our ability to observe things, correlate them and make decisions.
If you've seen a horse race or a horse carriage, you would know what a blinder is. Per wiki, many racehorse trainers believe that blinders keep the horse focused on what is in front of him, encouraging him to pay attention to the race rather than other distractions, such as crowds. This works fine because there is a jockey who can make decisions. So winning a race is more about the jockey's ability to guide the horse to the finish line than just the speed of the horse. What if the jockey also wears a blinder?!
It is amazing how seemingly intelligent people sometimes act as if they are jockeys wearing blinders. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt!
